Showcase Projects
To be honest, Bison Printing is not the main reason a job qualifies
for the showcase. We do our part by putting forth world class quality
work, but what really makes a job stand out is great design. Anyone
can put a job on nice paper, with foils and coatings, die cuts and
glue, and all kinds of other fancy production techniques -- and
the job can still look bad.
A showcase job is well designed, well
planned, and well produced. It is a team effort where the end user,
designer, and Bison Printing work together to make the product beautiful
and functional.
Our compliments to all the wonderful creative people out there
who send us a never ending stream of interesting jobs. Thank you
for trusting us by giving us the privilege and opportunity to produce
your work.

Customer:
Washington & Lee University
Design: Access
Project Description:
12 x 9; 28 page + Cover + application insert; saddlebound
on 9" edge
|
W&L was looking for brilliant blue color in the photographs
and accent colors of this showcase job for their school of
law, so it was decided to print a Pantone 293 touch plate.
Bison Printing used a third party Photoshop plug-in to create
the separations for the touch color. This is one of several
jobs for W&L that made the most of our ability to create
and print touch plates.

Hatteras Yachts
Design: Hatteras Yachts
Project Description:
Project Description: 25.5 x 11 sales brochure
|
This job is in the showcase because of the fantastic computer
generated, photographic quality artwork. Unless one closely
inspects the image of the yacht, one would never realize it's
not a photo. This impeccable job was also UV coated for an
ultra premium look.

Bread & Butter
|
Project Description:
Standard Pocket Folder
|
This job is exactly the kind of job we do best. A standard
pocket folder, ordered at a quantity most people need (1500),
with solid ink coverage inside and out, coating for sheen
and durability, die cut, automatically fold/glued, shrinkwrapped
and packaged neatly, and out the door. This is the type of
job we can do with our eyes closed. High quality and quick
turnaround -- our bread and butter.

Hatteras 80 Motor Yacht

Like any Hatteras Yacht, this piece exudes premium quality
from stern to bow. This job boasts ultra sharp photography
and handsome design, 28-pages plus custom diecut pocket folder
cover, spot gloss UV coating throughout, and a perfect (literally)
bound finishing touch. No expense or effort was spared to
make this job as impeccable as the product it is selling.

Very Cool
|
Project Description:
Hokie Pocket Folder Briefcase
|
This job for Virginia Tech is very cool because it's a pocket
folder one can carry like a briefcase. This ingenious design
is similar to a normal pocket folder, except that it has an
extra panel with a hand hole diecut into it that folds around
and tucks into a slot in the back panel. Once one stuffs his
or her inserts into the pocket, one can fold, close, and carry
like a briefcase. Very cool.

Project Description:
The CBS Flapper
|
This self promotional job for Coyne Beahm Shouse, Inc. called
"The Flapper" is showcased for the precise design
and production required to make it work. The job 'unfolds
into itself" to reveal four different informational panels.
As one 'unfolds' the job, it remains flat and stays the same
size. Thick premium stock and high gloss coating give it an
ultra rich feel. Simply describing this one is totally inadequate,
call for a sample!

Project Description:
What a Doozy!
|
This self promotional job for Access was aptly named the
Doozy for the precise design and production required to make
it work. The job 'unfolds into itself" to reveal four
different informational panels. As one 'unfolds' the job,
it remains flat and stays the same size. The job also features
a unique clear foil stamp on all four panels. Simply describing
this one is totally inadequate. This one must be seen, call
for a sample!
